Neil completed his PhD at Loughborough University in 2006 and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Sport with sixteen years teaching experience and a teaching fellowship. Neil’s publications are in the area of sport policy, management and governance and include two books, peer-reviewed journal articles (including a commendation), reports to professional bodies, research reports and industry magazine articles. He is on the steering group of the Global Sport network and is a member of the Political Studies Association (PSA) and networks such as ESDN and CIMSPA. He is on the Validation panel for new degrees and an external examiner. His wider research interests include ‘good governance’ in sports organisations (corporate and non-profit), local government services, disability sport, and sports politics, and the impact of economic austerity on public sector sport services.
