Biography:
Paul joined the Department in 2007 after being awarded a first class Honours degree in Sport & Exercise Science from Edge Hill University. He was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Pre Doctoral Studies in 2009,and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Teaching and Learning in 2011. He successfully defended his PhD via in April 2015.His main research areas concern skill acquisition and visual perception and action in sport and in particular is interested in the way which information is perceived by the human visual system and how it is employed to support actions in a sporting context.
Paul is module leader on SPT 1434 Fundamentals of Sport and Exercise Psychology and SPT 3436 Applied Skill Acquisition in Sport and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority. He is also a

He is also a member of the departmental ethics and research committees. Paul also has supervisory responsibilities for dissertation and MRes students.
From an applied perspective he has worked with a range of teams providing sport science support, notably within English Premiership Football; Women’s International U-19 Football; English Division 2 Football; GB Equestrian Development Team; GB Taekwondo Team; English Super League (Rugby League); Maccabi GB Futsal Team; and skill acquisition support for a local table tennis club.
