As an experienced paediatric cardiac intensive care nurse, I acted as an expert reviewer for the Bristol Royal Inquiry Infirmary.
I gained an MA in Management and Leadership and moved to Edge Hill University in 2006 as a Senior Lecturer in the Child Health Team. As part of this role I have developed an interest in Simulated Learning and utilise this mode of teaching and learning in pre-registration Children’s Nursing and Paramedic programmes. I am a module lead for second and third year practice modules and the care of the child with complex, critical and life limiting illnesses.
I am involved with the Well Child Charity in delivering simulated learning in the 'Better at Home' simulation suite to support parents of children with complex health needs. My research interests include undertaking a research project to develop clinical competencies for Children’s Community Nurses.
