Biography:
I studied film from A level through to completing my doctoral thesis (on the work of the Japanese actor/director Kitano Takeshi) over the course of nine years. I worked for three years lecturing and teaching Film Studies at the University of Sheffield before moving to Edge Hill University in 2010. I am currently completing a book on Japanese cinema since 1997 to be published in 2014 by Edinburgh University Press.
