Biography:
Rachel’s principle research interests are aligned with scenography, theatre history and architecture. Her doctoral thesis from the University of Leeds investigated the evocation of unrealized Utopian theatre architecture from the 1920s and 1930s. This interdisciplinary project argues that the process of computer-based 3D visualization is a site of knowledge generation as well as articulation. The case studies were centred on the unrealized theatre projects of Vsevolod Meyerhold, Frederick Kiesler and Walter Gropius.
