Biography:
Having taught for a number of years in Mainstream and Special Schools, I started my Higher Education career as a Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University in 2004 leading M.A. programmes in Special and Inclusive Education.
I began my PhD in 2007 at Lancaster University and completed in 2010 with a thesis entitled "The reality of Study Support: a Phenomenographic and Activity Theory Analysis". I am currently involved in an EU Tempus funded curriculum development project in Armenia and Georgia which is seeking to enhance access to society (with an emphasis on access to education) for individuals with disabilities.

I have been the Joint Editor of the British Journal of Special Education since 2011 and am a Senior Fellow of the Emerging Researchers Group of the European Educational Research Association. I am particularly interested in methodologies that have the potential to capture perspectives, on complex and multifaceted educational issues.
