I have previous experience of coaching a range of sports, though I specialised in Multi-skills and Fundamental Movement Skills. My main sport is hockey and I was involved with the Welsh Hockey Union for a number of years coaching across a range of junior international levels. I continue to coach at national league level and in the England Hockey single system at JRPC. Throughout my undergraduate studies and MSc Sports Science (Physiology) I have gathered a range of experiences in athlete preparation and sports science support including work with junior elite tennis players and Squash Wales as well as being involved in preparing athletes for the Marathon des Sables and the Transatlantic Row.

I’m keen to share my experiences, good and bad, in order to help develop students' learning of the complex and dynamic environment of coaching. I like to use varied approaches to teaching and learning including the use of various technologies. I have recently been awarded an Institutional Teaching and Learning Fellowship, with a focus on developing positive digital identities in order to enhance employability opportunities for students. My aim is to challenge students’ thinking of their own coaching and the coaching of others and become more reflective, self-aware practitioners.
