Matt Lawson is a musicologist specializing in music for film and television. Having completed his undergraduate honours degree in Music at Huddersfield in 2009, Matt has since gained an MA with distinction from the University of York (2012). Matt is a funded PhD candidate at Edge Hill, focussing on Holocaust film music. Matt also has an academic grounding in a wide range of musicological fields, ranging from Romanticism to the use of Richard Wagner’s music in American cartoons. Matt has taught at Edge Hill on the Music, Sound and Enterprise degree, as well as leading seminar sessions in study skills across the faculty.
