I joined Edge Hill University in 2004 as a Head of Department in the Faculty of Education, concerned mostly with Postgraduate Initial Teacher Training. I have recently completed a Doctorate in Education. This was concerned with Bourdieu's theory of habitus and how it contributes to Social Reproduction in a Secondary School, restricting the pathways and choices of those who started their secondary education at a disadvantage.
