Biography:
Gill is a chartered Psychologist who lectures across the Applied Health and Social Care degree portfolio and provides psychological teaching input into continued professional development modules within the Faculty of Health and Social Care. Her main teaching input is on the BSc(Hons) Psychosocial Analysis of Offending Behaviour programme. Prior to employment at Edge Hill University, Gill worked within the prison service (both male Category B and Category C prisons), providing psychological services to offenders and she held the position of treatment manager of an offending behaviour treatment programme. More recently Gill has completed a PhD at the University of Manchester which focused on the effectiveness of a joint crisis planning intervention for service users with severe mental illness, in reducing compulsory detention under the Mental Health Act. She has a particular research interest in disparities in health service needs and treatment provision for ethnic minority groups.
