This document sets out the Department of Law & Criminology’s (DLC) guidelines and standards for acceptable legal writing on all law programmes. If you follow this advice, you cannot be open to criticism. If you do not, you may be criticised, and you may have marks deducted. The document contains advice for appropriate style for legal writing, the use of sources, the presentation of bibliographies and the required “house style” for referencing.
